Las camionetas Colorado y Silverado, los deportivos Camaro y Corvette, el familiar Equinox y el eléctrico Bolt EV en la pista de carreras Atlanta Motor Speedway
No todos los días tenemos el privilegio de conducir la línea de carros de una marca en una pista de carreras. Pruebas de manejo con obstáculos simulando terrenos áridos, subir y bajar una empinada altura con una camioneta o quedar en tres ruedas en una zanja, fueron algunas de las experiencias que Chevy nombra: Encontrando Nuevas Rutas (Find New Roads).
La pista de carreras Atlanta Motor Speedway en Hampton, Georgia, al sur de la ciudad de Atlanta se engalanó con los modelos Chevy en cada rincón. El óvalo de dos curvas de una longitud de 1,54 millas sirvió en la pista a los modelos deportivos en los cuales, acompañados de un profesional pudimos apreciar la velocidad de los coches Camaro y Corvette.
Escalando con la COLORADO: Con la camioneta tamaño mediana Colorado ZR2 tuvimos la oportunidad de copilotear una subida con obstáculos, con el vehículo detenido en una posición en escalada y aprendimos como podemos avanzar con solamente apretar un botón en el panel; cambiar la fuerza y darle el impulso al vehículo para sacarlo con esta simple maniobra. La ZR2 y El Modo Todo Terreno facilita la transición de la ciudad al campo. Regula la calibración del motor, la transmisión y sistemas de control de tracción para manejo difícil.
REMOLQUE CON CAMIONETAS: En las pruebas de manejo remolcamos con las camionetas un vehículo. El frenado debe ser diferente y por supuesto con una carga adicional más larga, debemos maniobrar con cuidado, teniendo en cuenta, nuestro peso, además de el largo y ancho del trailer que transportamos, en esta ocasión, con otro vehículo.
SILVERADO en terreno árido: Manejamos la Silverado en terreno con obstáculos, disparejo y con los conos naranja que indicaban la ruta. La camioneta tiene neumáticos todoterreno y una suspensión ajustada todoterreno. En el mercado, la Silverado HD ofrece dos motores de camionetas para trabajos pesados: el VortecTM V8 de 6.0 L estándar a gasolina y el Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 de 6.6 L disponible que genera 910 lb-ft de torque. El motor V8 Vortec de 6.0 L estándar genera potencia a bajas revoluciones por minuto para una curva de torque más pareja. La estabilidad con las dos manos sobre el volante, sin distracciones, hace más segura la conducción. Recuerden que Chevy tiene en sistema OnStar, para cualquier llamada en accidente, seguidores de ruta y ayuda en la carretera.
BOLT EV: La prueba del totalmente eléctrico de la Chevy fue un poco más audáz. Espacios con obstáculos y curvas a una mayor velocidad para probar la estabilidad y el agarre de los neumáticos en curvas, frenados bruscos y aceleraciones cortas. Exitante experiencia; siempre pensamos que un eléctrico es un vehículo lento y no fue así.

BOLT EV: The small wagon offers an EPA estimated 238 miles of range Bolt EV’s drive system uses a single, high-capacity electric motor for propulsion. The motor is capable of producing up to 266 lb.-ft. (360 Nm) of torque and 200 hp (150 kW) of motoring power. Combined with a 7.05:1 final drive ratio, that helps propel the Bolt EV from 0-60 mph in less than seven seconds
Power delivery is controlled by Chevrolet’s first Electronic Precision Shift system – a shift and park-by-wire system that sends electronic signals to the Bolt EV’s drive.
A by-wire shifter requires less packaging space than a traditional mechanical shifter, resulting in more interior space and improved interior layout.
The 60 kWh lithium ion battery pack, featuring five sections, 10 modules and 96 cell groups (three cells per group). Flat battery pack spans the entire length of the vehicle’s floor. A 7.2 kW onboard charger for regular overnight charging from a 240-V wall box is standard. With it, a typical commute of 50 miles can be recharged in less than two hours.
An available DC Fast Charging system using the industry standard SAE Combo connector, enabling the battery to be charged up to 90 miles of range in 30 minutes (outside temperatures may affect charging time).
CAMARO ZL 1: The Camaro ZL1 was born in 1969, when enterprising dealers used Chevrolet’s COPO special order system to create racing-intended models powered by an aluminum 427 Big Block engine.

Along with a 19 percent increase in max torque over the current Duramax 6.6L, the redesigned turbo-diesel’s performance is quieter and smoother, for greater refinement. In fact, engine noise at idle is reduced 38 percent. Additional highlights include:
