Celebrated singer/songwriter Rita Wilson has shared her infectious, dance-infused new single, “Oli Mazi (We are all together”).” featuring guest vocalist Christos Mastoras, out today on Sing It Loud LLC. Co-written by Rita and hitmaker and award-winning/ honorary Oscar recipient Diane Warren, “Oli Mazi (We are all together).” was co-produced by Rita Emanuel “Eman” Kiriakou & Zhone, rounding out the fittingly Greek team who worked on the track. The feel-good anthem serves as the ultimate souvenir from the anticipated film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 opening in theaters on September 8.
“Oli Mazi (We are all together)” conveys themes of family reflected in the wildly popular My Big Fat Greek Wedding film franchise – the song was penned for the third installment of the film. Rita relished the opportunity to join forces with Diane Warren for the first collaboration between these two forces of nature in both music and film. Fellow Greek vocalist Christos Mastoras, who Rita has previously worked with on the track, “Le Me Be,” effortlessly blends his inviting vocals with Rita’s warm, distinctive voice on the exuberant song that will leave audiences dancing in the aisles.
Rita explains, “Greek people are known for their love of family. OLI MAZI means “all together.” The song is about bringing people together whether it’s your birth family or chosen family, being there for each other and celebrating that love and connection. No man is a (Greek) island. (Thank you, John Donne.) We need each other. I’m excited about collaborating again with Greek artist Christos Mastoras, and to have co-written ‘OLI MAZI (We Are All Together)’ with my dear friend, the great Diane Warren.”
Diane Warren adds, “At a time when we seem so far apart, I hope ‘OLI MAZI’ which means all together, can maybe bring us a little closer.”
